La Verrerie de Biot marks its 70th anniversary with Rouge Santarem, a collection where heritage meets creativity.

For its 70th anniversary, La Verrerie de Biot is not simply celebrating its past—it is bringing it to life by dressing its most iconic creations in a new colour and unveiling a special anniversary collection.

La Verrerie de Biot celebrates 70 years of craftsmanship, passed down from generation to generation and embodied in the House’s iconic forms that have stood the test of time. To mark this anniversary, a bold gesture of colour: Rouge Santarem, the signature hue of La Verrerie de Biot’s new visual identity, delicately applied as a gradient at the base of each piece, like living matter.

“A special collection that reflects both where the House comes from and where it is going.”« Une collection spéciale qui dit à la fois d'où vient la Maison et où elle va. »

Seventy years, the same breath.

1956 marked the founding of La Verrerie de Biot and the birth of its mouth-blown bubbled glass. A unique innovation created in the open workshop at the heart of the village of Biot, which would go on to become the artisanal signature of La Verrerie de Biot around the world.

Since 1973, three generations of the Lechaczynski family have preserved and passed on this rare craftsmanship with the same passion and unwavering dedication to the artisanal gesture. This heritage continues to thrive through the training of future generations. Behind every piece lies, above all, a deeply human craft—shaped by skilled hands, experience, and passion.

Today, the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV – Living Heritage Company) label held by La Verrerie de Biot is more than an honorary distinction—it is an accurate reflection of what the House embodies every day: a living craftsmanship, practiced and passed on through daily work.

Behind 70 years of La Verrerie de Biot’s history are millions of visitors who have witnessed each piece being brought to life before travelling in suitcases to every corner of the world, where they illuminate tables filled with warmth, celebration, and conviviality. Welcoming more than 450,000 visitors each year, La Verrerie de Biot has become the most visited craft business in France.

Rouge Santarem: When a Colour Becomes a Signature

La Verrerie de Biot opens a new chapter in its history with a renewed brand identity and unveils a new signature colour: Rouge Santarem, a rich, deep hue that reinterprets its historic pink.

For its 70th anniversary, the House has chosen to express this colour through its iconic bubbled glass, where heritage meets renewal.

A bold glassmaker’s gesture for one-of-a-kind pieces.

The gradient is born in the furnace, after being shaped by the hands of the master glassmaker. No two gradients are ever exactly alike, making every piece truly one of a kind.

“Like the bubbles themselves, each piece bears the unique imprint of the gesture that shaped it.”

The collection brings together some of the House’s most iconic creations, including the rounded pitcher with its unmistakable Provençal curves, the Sangria tumbler, and the bowl that brightens everyday tables, as well as the Christmas ornament that celebrates the festive season. Together, these pieces reveal the many facets of La Verrerie de Biot’s craftsmanship, from the art of the table to decorative objects.
